In a gesture aimed at revitalizing cultural and artistic ties between Lebanon and Iraq, the family of renowned Lebanese artist Gebran Tarazi has donated a valuable collection of art publications to Dr. Qasim Mohsen, Director General of the Department of Public Arts at Iraq’s Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities. The donated works focus on Tarazi’s artistic legacy.
Among the gifted publications are “Gebran Tarazi: Geometric Variations” (French/Arabic, Fine Arts Publishing House, Lebanon, 2007) and “Gebran Tarazi – The Twelve Seasons” (French/English, Zaman Publishing, Paris, 2017), written by French art historian Morad Montazami.

The donation also includes recent works by Iraqi art critic Khudhair Al-Zaidi: “Gebran Tarazi – A Story of Oriental Creativity” (Al-Adib Publishing, Jordan, 2024) and “Gebran Tarazi – A Pioneer of Authenticity and Innovation” (Baghdad, 2025).
Dr. Qasim Mohsen expressed deep appreciation for the gift, describing it as a generous contribution from a prominent Arab family with a 160-year heritage in traditional craftsmanship. He highlighted the scholarly value of these books for researchers exploring abstract geometric art. In recognition of Gebran Tarazi’s artistic significance, Dr. Mohsen proposed organizing a retrospective exhibition in Baghdad, symbolizing the growing artistic and cultural collaboration between Iraq and Lebanon.
