Introduction
As part of the academic collaboration between the Moroccan Association of Islamic Education Teachers–Meknes Section ,and the Midad Center for Research and Studies, the Regional Training and Meetings Center of Meknes organized a national scientific symposium titled: “Shariaa Knowledge in the Discipline of Islamic Education : History and Approaches.” This event took place on Saturday,16 Sha’ban 1446 AH, corresponding to February 15, 2025, at 3 :00 PM.

Inaugural Session
The symposium began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the opening inaugural session, presided over by Dr. ABDELJALIL BOUSSIF, coordinator and head of the Islamic Education discipline at the Regional Center for Education and Training Professions in Fez-Meknes. This inaugural session included three key note speeches:
— Dr. MOHAMMED KALIL, Regional Director of the Ministry of National Education, Primary Education, and Sport in Meknes, who praised the role of the Moroccan Association of Islamic Education Teachers in supporting scientific and pedagogical projects, aligning with the commitments of the national roadmap.
— Mr. ABDELOUAHAB EL HAJJI, President of the Midad Center for Research and Studies, who welcomed the participants and thanked the scientific committee for its efforts in ensuring the success of this symposium.
— Dr. ABDELAZIZ EL IDRISSI, Regional Secretary of the Moroccan Association of Islamic Education Teachers in Meknes, who highlighted the importance of this symposium in promoting Shariaa knowledge and improving pedagogical practices.

First Scientific Session: ” The Moroccan School Curriculum: Challenges and Transformations“
Presided over by Dr. MOHAMMED EL HAJJI DRISSI, this session featured a presentation by Dr. Fouad Chafiqi, Inspector General of Educational Affairs and former Director of Curricula and Educational Programs. He delivered an in-depth lecture on the challenges of the Moroccan curriculum and the difficulties faced by Moroccan schools in evolving their educational programs.

Second Scientific Session:” Shariaa Knowledge in the Discipline of Islamic Education”
Presided over by Mr. ABDELFATTAH EL AARKAB, this session included the following presentations :
— Mr. ABDELMOUNAIM DEKKAK : “ Shariaa Knowledge in the Discipline of Islamic Education : Theoretical Framework and Historical Evolution.”
— Dr. MOSTAFA FATIHI:“ Teaching the Quran in the Discipline of Islamic Education: History and Approaches.”
— Mr. MOHAMMED SENHAJI:“ Teaching Hadith in the Discipline of Islamic Education : History and Approaches.”
— Dr. MOHAMMED FARIS:“ Integrating Values into the Discipline of Islamic Education : History and Approaches.”

Third Scientific Session: Pedagogical Approaches in Teaching Shariaa Knowledge
Presided over by Mr. ABDELOUAHAB EL HAJJI, this session featured contributions from :
— Dr. MOHAMMED EL ANSARI and Dr. MOHAMMED EL HAJJI DRISSI, with a presentation on “Teaching Islamic Doctrine in the Discipline of Islamic Education: History and Approaches.”
— Dr. MOHAMMED KASSIMI: “Teaching Fiqh in the Discipline of Islamic Education : History and Approaches.”
— Dr. ABDELAZIZ EL IDRISSI: “Teaching the Biography of the Prophet MOHAMMED in the Discipline of Islamic Education : History and Approaches.”
— Dr. OMAR AIT AMROU and Dr. MOURAD LAMRABET, with a joint presentation on “Shariaa Knowledge in Traditional Education : History and Approaches.”
Conclusion
The symposium was distinguished by in-depth scientific discussions, where researchers and students had the opportunity to interact with the speakers, enriching the sessions with valuable contributions and constructive exchanges.
The event concluded with prayers for the well-being of all and for His Majesty King Mohammed VI, invoking Almighty God to preserve Morocco in security and stability.
