To the Western peoples and free people of the world, a greeting of peace and goodness…
In this letter, I speak with a heart full of appreciation and gratitude to every free human being who stood by the Palestinian people in their ordeal, and the killing, displacement and aggression they are subjected to, and to everyone who contributed to confronting Israeli injustice through words and statements, demonstrations, sit-ins, actions, and boycotts. As I stand and speak about a humanitarian cause that unites our hearts and touches the consciences of all of us; It is the cause of the Palestinian people, who face death day and night, and live in the most difficult circumstances of their lives, under brutal occupation, in full view of everyone.
I address this letter to you after the war of Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people in Gaza exceeded more than 120 days, during which this brutal aggressor pursued a policy of systematic genocide against defenseless civilians, including women, children, the elderly, and innocent men. As Israel launched this unjust war, it declares openly that it is committing crimes against humanity, and that it will continue to do so vigorously and on a larger scale. Dealing with the Palestinians as “human animals,” as described by Israeli Security Minister Yoav Gallant, and threatening to deprive them of the most basic rights of life, “food, water, medicine, and sleep,” betrays abhorrent racism and sadism rooted in the mind and behavior of this occupier.
I address this open letter to all Western peoples in the United States of America, Canada, the European Union, Britain, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, South America, and the free people of the world everywhere, in a clear and directed manner, as a Muslim human being, who follows the path of the Holy Qur’an, which is the reliable source through which Allah Almighty preserved the history of humanity, in which the biographies of the leaders of human civilization were mentioned, from the first of them, the father of humanity, Adam (peace be upon him), to the last of them, the seal of the prophets and messengers and the Messenger of the worlds, Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and based on humanitarian and moral spiritual ideals and values, the basis of which is enjoining good and forbidding evil, rejecting Injustice, achieving justice and peace, equality and fairness among all people.
1. Shocking duality: The noble humanitarian meanings of Western peoples and their governments’ support for genocide in Gaza and Palestine
O sons of the Western peoples, and oh free people of the world; The government of the United States of America and some Western governments contributed to financing the horrific massacres against the Palestinian people, with all means of military, security, financial, and propaganda support for the Israeli occupier. It is not logically acceptable to invoke values, principles and charters or to suspend them in a blatantly selective manner, according to policy priorities and interest trends. If the positions of Western governments contradict their interests, it strips credibility from their positions. It is disappointing that the policy of a number of Western governments has reached double standards by placing human beings above others in rank, rights, and attention. Is Israeli or Ukrainian blood more sacred or pure than Palestinian blood? Of course exterminating or attacking a people cannot be justified in any way. Therefore, people were shocked that the American leadership and its allies in Europe stood by the aggressors in Gaza, as they ignored the truth and moral logic in their positions, statements, and dealing with this decisive humanitarian event.
It is no secret to Western societies that there are more than two million “original” Palestinians of Palestine, suffering under the burden of a stifling, inhumane, and illegal siege for two decades, in addition to the fact that the extreme right-wing government of Tel Aviv has deepened its complicity with the attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque, until it was exposed that it was involved in the process of dividing the time for prayer, and also the escalation of settlers’ attacks on the Palestinians and their property in the West Bank, and their government’s intentions to annex parts of the West Bank through the expansion of demolishing Palestinian homes, intimidating the safe, and building random settlements. The intention is deep within the Zionist circles and their allies to expel the Arabs from Palestine as a first step and then establish their entity from the Euphrates to the Nile.
O sons of the Western peoples, and oh free people of the world; The steadfastness of the Palestinian people against an invading occupier and an artificial entity is a liberation struggle and a legitimate struggle, which these people derived from their faith in Allah Almighty, and from the teachings of the Holy Qur’an, which makes clear to them in its decisive verses that death for the sake of Allah Almighty, and the repulsion of aggressors and unjust invaders; is one of the greatest acts of closeness that can be achieved by whoever accepted Allah as the only God, Islam as religion, and Muhammad as Prophet and Messenger to his great Creator, without being afraid of the blame of anyone. Allah Almighty said: {And Allah will surely support those who support Him. Indeed, Allah is Powerful and Exalted in Might (40) [And they are] those who, if We give them authority in the land, establish prayer and give zakah and enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong. And to Allah belongs the outcome of [all] matters (41)} [Al-Hajj: 40, 41].
2. Penetration of Western civilization by the satanic “Zionist” lobbies and devices
O Western peoples: Western civilization has been truly penetrated by the Zionist lobbies and agencies specialized in intellectual issues and religious propaganda. They distorted many historical facts from the issues of the “Promised Land” and the “Temple of Solomon,” and succeeded, with Western support, in penetrating and distorting the Western moral and legal system. These ideas played a role in the absence of human values and ideals that address common sense, and made many Western leaders, regardless of their positions, fall into the swamp of injustice, arrogance, and crime at the expense of the values of their peoples, the constitutions of their countries, and their humanitarian and civilizational slogans, which they have long called for.
In this letter, it is necessary to praise the position of the officials in the countries of Ireland, Spain, Belgium and South Africa, whose governments’ positions varied, and the viewpoint of their officials differed from the positions of other Western governments, and popular public opinion in those countries (mentioned) was manifested in its highest form in massive demonstrations and protests day and night. The world does not forget the position of the Prime Ministers of Spain and Belgium, when they staged a sit-in in front of the Rafah crossing to bring humanitarian aid into Gaza, and they held a press conference in front of it, demanding an end to the aggression and the entry of aid. The free people and peoples of the world will not forget the complaint and legal arguments filed by the State of South Africa before the International Court of Justice, to stop the war in Gaza and punish the Zionist occupier. Likewise, the great humanitarian position of the Kingdom of Belgium, which increased its aid to UNRWA after the governments of the United States of America, Britain, and other European countries stopped UNRWA’s aid in Gaza.
3. Western constitutional and humanitarian values are being put to a real test
O sons of Western peoples; “An Interview with George Washington” talked about how Washington was drawn into the struggle for his country’s independence. It is a book that takes readers on a tour of Washington’s revolutionary vision. He was a celebrated war hero who earned the title “Father of the Country.” In this journey, readers are inspired by the meanings of heroism, through which he made America the best place in the world, after getting rid of English colonialism.
When American President Wilson announced his fourteen points at the end of World War I, the most important of which was: “the right of peoples to self-determination,” the Islamic nation translated it as a just stance against the European colonial movement, which was perched on the chests of its peoples. Yes, Muslims were happy with the voice of the American and European nations, and they rejoiced in a rising power that rejected the oppression of the oppressed, discrimination between peoples, and attempts to persecute them. But confidence in America and its human rights project was soon shaken, and then fell to the bottom, because of America’s own actions, which were in the form of evidence that removed good faith.
Despite everything that happened in Palestine at the hands of the usurping Zionists, after the desecration of Al-Aqsa Mosque dozens of times, the American support and strategic alliance with the Israeli occupier continued, and the emphasis increased on the deviation of the American and Western position from the compass of values and the official historical promises of peace and democracy, which made These governments and their international reputation are under a real test, and are at stake in front of all peoples.
4. Injustice heralds the collapse of countries and civilizations
O Western peoples, O free people of the world; Kind words and advice in Islam have great value, and it is obligatory for a Muslim to give them to both Muslims and non-Muslims. The world is in the same boat, and what happens in any place in this world is reflected in all its circumstances in any place in it.
In this time, the Islamic nation faces aggression and terrorism, as was the case when Jesus (peace be upon him) was subjected to Roman aggression. The Romans persecuted Christ (peace be upon him). Rome considered itself at that time a symbol of civilizational values, the first power in the world, and the heir to Greek civilization at the time. It had a Senate and democracy in the sense of that era. The Roman individual was free in his belief and personal behavior, and this is what made it better than the tyrannical empires in other regions at the time. But human history does not remember that country well. Because of the heinous crime that was stained by it, which is the persecution of Christians, that superpower lost every valuable advantage, when it weakened a group that believed in Allah, Who has absolute power, absolute glory, and absolute justice, and He is severe in punishment and gives respite to the oppressors, but one day He will take revenge on them.
Therefore, Allah Almighty gave the hordes of the northern Caucasian “Germanic” tribes control over the Empire of Rome, and they invaded Rome, burned its cultural landmarks, and destroyed its pride in the late fifth century AD (476 AD). Two centuries later, Allah bequeathed the Holy Land in which Christ (peace be upon him) lived to the followers of the Seal of the Prophets and Messengers Muhammad (peace be upon him), and here Christ won a great victory; This Islamic nation, which conquered many regions of the world and liberated it from persecution and tyranny, and filled it with mercy and justice, demonstrated to the people the greatness of Christ (peace be upon him) and the truth of his message, and the virtue of the disciples and those who followed them, which is what is stated in detail in the Holy Qur’an. It considered itself the last link in the same long chain of followers of the prophets, starting with Abraham (peace be upon him), and passing through Moses and Jesus (peace be upon them), it showed the whole world that the enemies of Christ (peace be upon him) were the enemies of freedom and human values, and those who lied to Christ and incited against him (the Romans) or those who falsely affiliated with him and distorted his message like Paul and his followers.
O Western peoples, and oh free people of the world: I feel sorry that a country like the United States of America, and some Western governments, especially those countries founded by immigrants and those fleeing injustice and persecution, have replaced themselves with the tyrants who persecuted, tortured, and were arrogant. This portends a dire consequence, and Allah’s punishment, sooner or later, in destroying those forces that supported injustice. Allah Almighty said: {Have they not traveled through the land and observed how was the end of those who were before them? They were greater than them in strength and in impression on the land, but Allah seized them for their sins. And they had not from Allah any protector} [Ghafir: 21].
Allah Almighty has spoken to us in His Holy Book about the civilization of the people of Ad, who were oppressive and arrogant in this land, and they said to their Prophet Hud (peace be upon him): {As for ‘Aad, they were arrogant upon the earth without right and said, “Who is greater than us in strength?” Did they not consider that Allah who created them was greater than them in strength? But they were rejecting Our signs (15) So We sent upon them a screaming wind during days of misfortune to make them taste the punishment of disgrace in the worldly life; but the punishment of the Hereafter is more disgracing, and they will not be helped (16)} [Fussilat: 15-16].
O Western peoples, and oh free people of the world: This story contains lessons for civilizations, kingdoms, and governments that are based on arrogance, injustice and oppression, and do not care about human rights, nor the lives of women, children, and the defenseless elderly, and they say with destructive tools: Who is stronger than us? For these people, the law of Allah passes through them, and its deadlines and times are with the Great Creator, and they enter into the year of the circulation of civilizations and their change in the Almighty’s saying: {And these days [of varying conditions] We alternate among the people so that Allah may make evident those who believe and [may] take to Himself from among you martyrs – and Allah does not like the wrongdoers –} [Al Imran: 140].
5. Muslims everywhere have a message: peace, justice and love
O sons of the Western peoples, and oh free people of the world; Muslims are a nation of justice, peace and goodness, and at the same time their morals refuse to gloat over an afflicted person, and they hope in every situation that the Western circles and their leaders, led by America, will review their policy and be closer to justice and fairness, and some of their leaders have precedents in that, and it becomes clear how the people of Islam exchanges Western step for steps:
Muslims in the Western world, including the countries of America, Britain and Canada, have painted the most wonderful moral picture in compliance with the laws, free participation in elections, practicing democracy, fair competition, coexistence with cultures, and calling for goodness. Muslims are convinced that Western peoples have many good and humane qualities, foremost among them the American people. They are a people, the majority of whom believe in the existence of Allah Almighty, and they are a people who spend more on charitable works than any other people in the world. They are of the peoples in the world that most accept Islam, and the fastest to embrace it, in addition to the spread of Islam and its acceptance in Western Europe in an amazing way.
Praise be to Allah, there is more alertness among the Western peoples than their rulers if we compare it to previous decades. These people, with their common sense and awareness of the lies of their governments, have begun to have a state of resurgence and rebellion against the political and media system that distorts the facts and controls the media, and they are making every effort to work to The victory of values related to human rights and peace anywhere in the world.
We are all proud, from a humanitarian and values standpoint, of the size and breadth of the Western protests in the depths of the major capitals, rejecting the injustice befalling the Palestinian people, and in their rejection of Western leaders’ alignment with the Israeli occupier, which is what made many Western official positions change relatively, or put pressure, or take neutral positions in their statements and behavior, out of fear for their political future within their countries. This is what made us feel the importance of your goodness and human meanings, and even American and Western Jews, many of whom participated in rejecting the Zionist policy and its criminal and brutal behavior towards innocent people. This situation heralds a bright picture, which may be caused by these humanitarian situations, and will reflect on the achievement of peace, stability, justice and freedom for all oppressed peoples in this world.
History bears witness to the superior ability of peoples to change events when they stand united for the benefit of humanity and in support of the oppressed. In this context, we call on all of you to stand united in promoting peace and justice, and we affirm the importance of the role of each one of us in building a more humane, compassionate and loving world.
6. The bottom line: To the Western peoples and the free people of the world
To the Western peoples, and to the free people of the world: We are all saddened by the horrific atrocities and inhumane crimes targeting innocent civilians of the Palestinian people in Gaza and the occupied areas of Palestine, which take the character of ethnic cleansing and systematic extermination, and this represents a moral challenge to the entire world. It calls for urgent humanitarian vigilance and a strict review of the constitutional foundations and concepts on which the United Nations, Western and international governments were based. What is happening in Gaza today brings back terrifying chapters from the memory of the colonial era in Algeria, Afghanistan, Iraq, and Africa, just as the American people tasted its cup, and fought until they achieved their freedom, citizenship, dignity, and human rights.
O Western peoples; Let us all unite, Americans, Europeans, Palestinians, and all peoples in the world, for the sake of human life; full of dignity, value and meaning, let us create an opportunity for positive change, and chart a future in which peace and justice prevail. Humanity brings us together, and joint work enables us to achieve common aspirations to live in a world where love and tolerance prevail.
Finally: I advise you to fear the Great Creator, and to stand boldly and bravely, in large crowds, against this aggression and injustice, and to deal with this humanitarian and moral cause, “the cause of Gaza and Palestine,” with justice and mercy, and with a living conscience. Human beings, as the Qur’an states, are brothers and sons of one father and one mother: {O mankind, fear your Lord, who created you from one soul and created from it its mate and dispersed from both of them many men and women. And fear Allah, through whom you ask one another, and the wombs. Indeed Allah is ever, over you, an Observer}
Peace and mercy be upon you.
