NATO, or the so-called North Atlantic Alliance, is the main title of an international military alliance consisting of 30 countries, in which 21 other countries participate in its program, called Partnership for Peace.
Since the Korean War, the number of countries joining it has increased. The establishment of the Warsaw Pact, which is considered the arch opponent, is one of the most important reasons that led to an increase in the number of countries joining NATO in order to confront the Soviet Union at the time.
What is happening now in Ukraine has brought the scene back to its predecessor. Countries have started to rush to join the alliance, such as Finland and Sweden, which applied to join the alliance, amid the welcome of all, except Turkey, which announced its rejection of the move, but agreed to the candidacy of the two countries for NATO and signed a security agreement that guaranteed Turkey has its security concerns towards some groups that are hostile to Turkey, located in Finland and Sweden, in addition to lifting restrictions on the sale of weapons to Turkey. Turkey begins to try to influence Turkey through its membership in NATO, to take advantage of the idea of any country joining NATO to initiate an objection, taking advantage of The status quo.
Since its formation, the Atlantic Alliance has witnessed many differences. The first was the withdrawal of France from the alliance against the backdrop of differences between Paris and Washington in 1966, as well as Greece, which withdrew from it in 1974 to 1980, against the backdrop of the Turkish invasion of Northern Cyprus, to return and renew differences between the Greek and Turkish countries. As a result of American interest in Greece and the provision of F-16 fighter jets to strengthen its defense base against foreign threats. Turkey has banned the sale of these types for several years in addition to preventing Turkey from buying F-35 fighter jets, especially after purchasing S- 400 from Russia, giving Greece approval to buy.
It is a policy followed by the United States with anyone who opposes it, even in its internal security. It shows the reality of relations in the so-called alliance, thereby raising tension between the two neighboring countries, Turkey and Greece.
The issue of the existence of the Atlantic Alliance and the rapid accession of countries to it to secure the acceding state from a potential enemy, and obliging NATO members to defend it, in accordance with NATO law, is not a major guarantee that these countries will not be subject to sanctions and threats from NATO itself, if they think of tweeting outside the NATO squadron, even in The most basic internal decisions are before external ones.
Here, from the circumstances of the formation of the alliance, which came after the Palestinian Nakba, and prepared by the three countries of the United States of America, the British Empire and France, we read very well that the West’s attempt to establish alliances has initially instructed it to protect Israel from any aggression, in addition to protecting countries that It founded the alliance because it is well aware that the balance of power will not remain the same, and that the disintegration of the Soviet Union will not prevent Russia from rising again and restoring its competitive role globally at various levels.
In the end, political changes or changes imposed by special data for affected countries do not make accession to NATO safe from their slaps.
