The story did not end to begin, but rather it is a reality that exists in a beautiful country called Palestine. This is a country that has been defiled by the hands of rapists and continues to be, for 73 years, and in which it has practiced all its brutality against human beings, but the difference in my country, Palestine, is that men, women, children, the elderly, sand and stone, have not been spared the arrogance of the vile occupier.
Years and decades have continued, and the Palestinian issue has not been resolved, although the witness in particular, the beholder from afar, and even the reader of Palestinian history will know very well that the injustice in this country has escalated to the point of death.
Captive Palestine is in its large prison, its children are bound in unjust prisons, spread over its fertile land, which the enemy kills with its concrete and rusty iron walls, in which one of the prisoners says: He witnessed the change of its rusty doors during the stages of his imprisonment, and you can count the years?!.
The story of the prisoners with the occupier is witnessed by the walls in Palestine, the writings of activists and thinkers and the millions of papers on the platforms of humanitarian and human rights organizations, and in the Security Council and its neglected staircases for the countries concerned with the Palestinian cause.
Here is the story of the heroic prisoner, Nasser Abu Hamid, from occupied Palestine, and the prisoner “Nasser Abu Hamid” (49 years), from Al-Amari camp in Ramallah in the central occupied West Bank, and has been detained since 2002 and sentenced to life imprisonment 7 times, and an additional 50 years (for life). ), on charges of resisting the occupation and participating in the establishment of the “Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades,” a brother of 5 prisoners sentenced to life imprisonment, and the occupation demolished their home several times. The mother has been denied visits to her children for years, the last of which was in 2018.
The prisoner Nasser Abu Hamid is ill with a terminal illness, as a result of a bacterial infection he contracted in the occupation prisons, and when the health condition of the prisoner Abu Hamid began to deteriorate, since August 2021, when he began to suffer from pains in his chest until it was found that he had a tumor on the lung, It was removed and about 10 cm from the tumor’s circumference was removed by a non-specialist doctor, to be transferred back to Ashkelon prison before he recovered. The matter, which reached this dangerous stage, and from “Barzilai” Hospital to Ramle detention center, the sick prisoner, without his father, is transferred in his critical condition and health , and they do not allow his mother or anyone to visit him, unless the lawyer of the “non-governmental” Detainees and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Commission was able to obtain approval to visit him, surprising the prison administration’s decision that the sick prisoner Nasser Abu Hamid is unable to move as respirators accompany him.
It is a prisoner issue among the thousands of issues that the entity and its jailers hide under the basements, and in the darkness of inhumane prisons, because those who defend their homeland will pay heavy prices, and this is the promise of the free, but even in the darkest and most oppressive circumstances there are humanitarian laws guaranteed by international human rights law, international organizations and international associations .
In the end, and in a word that the mother of the captive, Mrs. Latifa Abu Hamid, “Umm Nasser”, told me: “You are destroying my house, but you will not destroy my soul.” She also says, “If you insist on killing my soulmates, I will not compromise my right to see my children and achieve the goal of every Palestinian mother who captured her son, I did not and will not I stop.”
It is important to recall and say that the Prisoners’ Affairs Commission had held the Israeli Prisons Administration fully responsible for Nasser’s life, because his transfer from Barzilai Hospital was an official decision to execute him, and it was time for his immediate release and an end to his killing.
There is nothing more beautiful than a smart painting by the creative Palestinian writer Naji Al-Ali, summarizing the meaning of silence about telling the truth. The mirror behind bars.
