Message from His Archbishop Theodosios “Atallah Hanna” (Archbishop of Sevastia) Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Alquds

“Our martyrs are not numbers, our hospitals and places of worship are.”

A month has passed since the horrific war on proud Gaza, and every hour there are martyrs, mothers embracing their martyred children, and the aggression is still brutally continuing, despite all the calls, pleas, and demands.

◾His Archbishop Theodosios “Atallah Hanna” began his message:

Dear brothers and sisters, this morning I address you again from Bethlehem, from the Church of the Nativity, from the Grotto of the Nativity, raising supplications and prayers for the sake of Gaza and its people who are being exterminated, killed, and targeted in this hideous way, which It indicates the barbarism of this occupation, the attack on hospitals. As we all know, this occupation, and this brutal colonialism that is brutal to us, does not respect places of worship, does not respect hospitals, and does not respect everything. In war, everything is permissible, and in this aggression The brutal ones are working to destroy everything, to destroy the infrastructure, to target the innocent children of our people, especially the children, these innocent children who are killed with this barbarism.

In this holy place, in this place,
From which the light of Christmas shone more than two thousand years ago.

◾His Archbishop Theodosios “Atallah Hanna” addressed:
I address our appeal, and we send our message again, to all Christian religious authorities in our world, to all churches, to all spiritual leaders in the world, on the need for them to move stronger,
In order to stop this aggression, we appeal to you from the land of Christmas, we appeal to you from this blessed country, whose sons are bleeding, to take action in support of this people. Perhaps your voice will reach where it needs to reach in order for this brutal aggression that targets our people in Gaza, the West Bank, and Alquds to stop, shedding the blood of innocents. In Gaza, the living consciences of our world are crying out: Move, O free people. Move before it is too late. How many children must be killed in order for this war to stop? How many hospitals and places of worship must be bombed in order for this war to stop.

◾His Archbishop Theodosios “Atallah Hanna” explained:
Our martyrs are not numbers. Our hospitals, places of worship, and everything in Gaza indicate the steadfastness of our people and their clinging to life, freedom, and dignity.

Our people love life and freedom, so do not leave this people a prey to the occupation, the machine of death, destruction and devastation, thousands of martyrs, the massive destruction that befell Gaza, a policy of collective punishment, ethnic cleansing, and the targeting of a defenseless people who want to live, who want to live in freedom and dignity, such as The rest of the people of the world.

◾ His ArchbishopTheodosios “Atallah Hanna”:
We will keep knocking on your doors, and we will keep calling on you, oh free people in our world, to take action.

Of course, we do not deny that there is a movement everywhere. We do not deny that the churches in our world have issued positions for which we thank them. But they continue to do so.

Positions must be clearer and more effective in order to contribute to stopping this aggression, which contradicts all human, moral and civilizational norms.

Every human being in this world, regardless of religious or ethnic affiliation, is required today to declare a position rejecting this aggression.

Let us all unite in this world in our rejection of this aggression, and our call to stop this aggression, the scenes of martyred children, and the massive destruction in proud Gaza, are not an ordinary, routine scene.

◾His Archbishop Theodosios “Atallah Hanna” wished:
I hope that the scenes in Gaza will not become routine scenes, as if they are a daily scene that we watch and pass by unnoticed. No, the scenes of death, destruction, and martyrs in Gaza are not an ordinary, routine scene. Rather, they are a scene that must stir the living consciences of our world. They must It moves every human being in this world.

Beloved ones, the responsibility of all of us in this world, moral, human, spiritual, and national, must urge us all, and call upon us all, in order to demand that this aggression stop.

I address our Arab nation, I address the free people of our Arab nation. You are able, if united, to stop this aggression. Your conferences, meetings, and encounters are worthless if they do not result. Stop this aggression. Stop these horrific crimes against humanity. , which is committed in proud Gaza.

◾His Archbishop Theodosios “Atallah Hanna” addressed:
We address a greeting of loyalty, a greeting of love, appreciation and respect to all the free people of our Arab nation who support this cause, which is a cause of right and justice. We salute the free people of our Arab nation who reject this aggression, who reject this conspiracy against this Palestinian issue. We salute you, and we are loyal. For everyone who says a word of truth, in this era, in which there are many conspirators and planners to liquidate the Palestinian cause.

In front of the nativity scene, we stand in reverence and honor for the sacrifices of our people, for the souls of our martyrs, for our people in Gaza, in the West Bank, in Jerusalem, and in all of Palestine.

We stand in reverence, honor, and loyalty to our people, who will remain steadfast, standing and proud in the face of this aggression.

Those who wait and expect the Palestinians to raise the flag of surrender, their waiting will be out of place. Do not wait, they will not surrender.
The Palestinians will not surrender, and will not raise the flag of surrender, despite all their pain and sorrow, and the aggression they are exposed to in Gaza, the West Bank, and other places, especially in Jerusalem, which the occupying authorities seek to steal from its people and owners.

A new day, with all this blood and sacrifices,
A new day, in which all Palestinians affirm that they remain committed to the covenant and promise, stationed, defending their dignity, their freedom, and their stolen rights.

Thank you, my beloved ones, and God willing, we will remain together, and together we call, with our position being one, and our voice being one, for this aggression to stop.
(Today is today, not tomorrow).
