The Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) is an international organization headquartered in The Hague in the Netherlands. It monitors the implementation and implementation of the Chemical Weapons Convention, which is applied by the signatories and ratifications.

The irony is that despite the fact that most of the decisions of this organization are politicized and follow American desires as a method of reporting, the 2013 Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, “for its wide-ranging efforts to eliminate chemical weapons.”

Many developments at the world level confirm that this organization has always adopted a bias towards the decisions of the countries that are an important part of it, according to special links to the agendas required by the urgent developments in the region, and perhaps the terrorist wars in the Arab region, specifically in Iraq and Syria, constituted a rich stage to start the movements of some of these representatives. the organization.

In 2003 the organization began its work in Iraq under the pretext of its possession of a weapon of mass destruction, and the invasion of Iraq was under its auspices, after the expulsion of the Brazilian diplomat Josie Boustani, the first director-general of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, but his term ended in a controversial way in March 2002, and that. After a proposal submitted by Washington and approved by 48 countries in the organization, and he was dismissed for matters related to mismanagement, polarization and confrontational behavior, and the dismissal was worked out as a result of his efforts to sign Iraq to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Chemical Weapons, and subject it to international inspections before the American invasion, which provoked A sharp dispute between Bustani and George Bush Jr.

As for Syria and during the years of the terrorist war, the issue of using chemical weapons appeared as an additional item to undermine the Syrian state, through the pretext of using internationally banned weapons against civilians, and during the war with terrorist groups, as happened in Douma, and what is currently happening in Idlib, despite a number of Reports confirming the terrorist groups’ intention to use chemical weapons according to an American play and a Western scenario, in order to indict the Syrian state, and to use this accusation in the political investment of the files of Idlib and the Syrian island.

The countries involved in the terrorist war on Syria were not satisfied with using the chemical file, but rather the White Helmets organization, which confirmed reports issued by several countries, including Syria, that this organization includes groups of terrorists who play theatrical roles on innocent children and civilians, so that their reports are supportive To maintain pressure on the Syrian state.

Despite the assertion of the Syrian state during the Security Council sessions to fully implement its obligations with the organization, what the European Council issued on 10/12/2020, regarding the extension of the sanctions imposed on Syria for an additional year, on some Syrian institutions and individuals, under the pretext of developing and using chemical weapons, confirms The extent to which this organization is biased towards the decisions of the countries concerned with the economic, military and political collapse of Syria, and it is involved in the anti-Syrian campaign.

This matter was confirmed by Russia’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzia, when reading a report exposing the American conspiracy that led to the dismissal of Bostani, and which indicated that the investigations into the use of chemicals had become a major challenge to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, questioning its impartiality and professionalism due to the pressures exerted by some countries on Organization, which had terrible catastrophic consequences for Iraq and Syria.

In conclusion, it has become clear that the war imposed on Syria is taking new directions, in order to complicate the path of solutions, prolong the war, and continue to overwhelm the Syrian people with crises. That the Syrian state has destroyed its chemical stockpile under the supervision of the United Nations, and therefore such American practices can only fall within the framework of international terrorism and pressure on the Syrian state. All of this is according to slogans that appear humane and terrorist in content.
