The Arab Spring, with its disastrous repercussions, did not spare the Middle East region from its terrorism, and perhaps the Middle Eastern scene in all its parts clearly explains the depth of international and regional interests in what this spring is.
Along the arenas of the so-called Arab Spring, the Libyan arena, with its location and in the middle, has emerged as areas of regional and international influence. Libya, the sick country with its oil wealth and vast areas, was not far from the scene of internal and external conflicts, which led to the division of the Libyan parties into two parties, and each of them began to install alignments that suit it according to its ideological orientations and political interests, to spread chaos throughout Libya.
After a bitter struggle between the forces of Khalifa Haftar and Fayez Al-Sarraj, the political scene appeared to be the superiority of one team over another militarily, and therefore politically, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, who is considered an ally of Russia, France, Egypt and the UAE, is matched by Fayez Al-Sarraj, an ally of Erdogan, and according to what is announced politically through the facts on the ground The Turkish support for Al-Sarraj was logistical and military support, and this intervention increased, through the entry of economists and businessmen, in order to invest in Libya, and to benefit from the Turkish incursion into the Libyan file.
However, according to the Bloomberg Media Group, the sudden announcement of the possibility of the resignation of the head of the reconciliation government, Fayez Al-Sarraj, and which Al-Sarraj confirmed in a media interview that he would “leave power soon.”
We can read the repercussions of Al-Sarraj’s resignation from Al-Wefaq presidency according to several aspects:
* The announcement of the resignation showed the futility of the support provided by Erdogan to the reconciliation government, as a result of popular protests in western Libya, due to poor living conditions and foreign pressures.
* As a result of the policy pursued by Erdogan’s soldiers, mercenaries, against the Libyan people, in contrast to the negative aspects of this alliance with Al-Sarraj, as the Libyan conflict is an internal Libyan-Libyan conflict.
* What is happening on Libyan soil as a result of the presence of terrorist mercenaries has opened the doors for the emergence of other rebel groups, which may plunge the country into chaos, not to mention the conflict between Haftar and Al-Sarraj forces.
* Indication that the alliance relationship between Haftar and his allies is stronger in the people, as a result of the violations imposed by the Turkish presence on the Libyan arena, and also that all Libyans have realized the danger of the Turkish plan, which constituted popular pressure on the reconciliation government.
* The weakness of the Turkish position as a result of the multiplicity of thorny geopolitical files that Erdogan is bearing with regard to Libya, Syria and Iraq.
* Turkish arrogance in the maritime military parade, as a Turkish naval ship sailed off the coast of Libya, to be on the brink of an armed clash with a French warship, which everyone read as Turkish recklessness as a result of interference in the Libyan affairs, and the need to put an end to Turkish practices throughout the eastern Mediterranean .
* Erdogan’s loss is not only a battleground and a security and intelligence workplace, but also a workplace and economic activity for the largest Turkish economic companies.
* Freezing the maritime agreement that was signed with the Libyan Government of National Accord in 2019, and thus a serious political and diplomatic shock in the event that a party hostile to Erdogan’s policy is elected, which means a resounding loss for Erdogan’s investment in the agreement document, to justify intervention in the eastern Mediterranean.
In the end, we may not see Erdogan’s tears if Al-Sarraj resigned, and was unable to dissuade him from his decision, but he will inevitably shed them, because his losses are now following, as a result of his flawed and ill-considered policies in the Middle East.
