A Galloway Township woman died Thursday following a crash in Galloway. Laila Marak was heading south on Route 9 waiting to turn left into the Leeds Point Shoppes when she turned into the path of a northbound Ford Expedition, police said. Marak, 56, was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center’s City Campus, where she was later pronounced dead. The other driver, Steven Sotelo of Egg Harbor City, was taken to AtlantiCare’s Mainland Campus in Galloway Township. He and his two passengers, including a 2-year-old girl, suffered injuries not considered life-threatening, according to the report. The accident is being investigated by Patrolmen Ron Gorneau and Nick Stewart.
